I led two developers from an empty repository to a live traceability system in about twelve weeks, in time for the harvest.

A harvest-season deadline made the outcome very concrete: the system had to work when the operational team needed it.

I led two contract developers from an empty repository to a live production traceability system in approximately twelve weeks, translating the physical process into software requirements and keeping the work focused on delivery.

Built around the work on the ground

QR identification, container and shelf tracking, placement scanning, pickup confirmation and an event log connected the physical process with its digital record. Browser-based camera functionality let the team scan labels as part of that workflow.

For seven years, I led IT and communications for an international organisation with more than 300 staff across multiple offices.

The remit covered Microsoft 365 and Azure migration, infrastructure and internal systems, alongside the people and processes that kept those systems useful.

Responsibility beyond the migration

Team leadership, recruitment, onboarding, standard operating procedures and day-to-day prioritisation were part of the same job. The technology mattered because people depended on it to do their work.

My role

IT and communications leadership, infrastructure, migration and ongoing operational responsibility.

My background is in IT operations and leadership. Over the years, I’ve moved towards systems and integration work where I can have a more direct impact.

I enjoy solving complex operational problems, working with people, and turning ideas into working systems that improve how organisations operate.
